March verse to memorize: Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10 (KJV)
Good Afternoon. In order to keep all up to date on what’s going on at Trinity and remain connected, we will be sending out an afternoon email each day. We will include our daily devotional, a youth and family activity, reminders about worship, and other information as it becomes available. A NOTE FROM PASTOR JAY: Peace be with you. Friends in Christ. Last night I had a meltdown. I had a moment where I felt truly overwhelmed. I share this with you because I want you to know what got me out of it… the peace of Jesus Christ. After having a hard conversation with my youngest daughter and her fiancé about a wedding that will now not be taking place as we have been preparing for, it gut punched me. It floored me just how challenging this time in our lives is. So, I broke down; not from just being overwhelmed, but because I couldn’t help fix my daughter’s wedding issues, and I am a fixer at heart. I know I am just one of so many that are walking through life altering changes. We are already hearing from some of our members that are losing or have lost their jobs. This event is going to continue to get more challenging, and how we respond is going to be remembered by our friends and family. We cannot be fearful. I know it’s hard to live into at times… but we cannot let the unknown lead the way when we know who our leader truly is. We can be cautious, but not fearful. We can remain calm in the midst of this and watch God continue to work. I want you to know that it is ok to lose it. It doesn’t mean that we don’t trust God, or that we don’t have enough faith… It is normal to have a moment where we “freak out” and think about what could happen. It is a natural emotion that we have to help us manage fear… But we cannot remain there, because we know that the Peace of Jesus Christ will overcome this situation, and the world. When the disciples were locked up in the upper room for fear that they would be found because they followed Jesus Christ who had just been crucified, Jesus came through those walls and met them where they were. They were scared, and his word to them was simple and short…Peace be with you. (John 20:19) We have a pastoral care team member on call every day to handle emergencies and pray with you if you need it. Please contact the church office and the message will get to us. Friends, we are in this together to the end. Check on each other. Melt down with each other. Walk with each other. But always know that in the midst of it all, Jesus is walking with us too. Never forget that. Put a chair at the dinner table. Leave a spot on the couch. Find ways to remind yourself that Jesus is there with you. It also might help your young ones remember as well. But know that He is always there. Peace be with you. God loves you and so do I. Pastor Jay
