“Lessons Among The Shadow Of The Cross”

Jesus will journey to the cross for each one of us and on his way he teaches us so much about life, love, commitment, and salvation.  During the Sundays of Lent, we will open our hearts to the lessons our Lord has for us.  May God bless us with a greater understanding of who He is and lead us towards a stronger commitment of who we need to be for Him.

Wednesday Lenten Services to Begin February 17

The theme for Lent is “Character!”  We will share a preaching series that is titled “The Character Tour.” In this series we will look closely at Biblical characters – Daniel, Noah, Joshua & Caleb, King David, Hosea, and Jesus. By looking at each of these Biblical figures in an in-depth manner, we will be challenged to grow in our own walk with Jesus and to encourage to take the necessary steps that will help us become more like Him.

The music for our evening Lenten services will remain prayerful, reflective, and meditative, while celebrating a variety of styles that will be led by the organ, piano and acoustic guitar.  (The 11:00 a.m. service will be led by organ only).  On Wednesday, March 3, we will have a Gospel music night! Beginning with Ash Wednesday, the themes will be:
¨ February 17 – “Studying the Discipline of the Prophet Daniel.” Musical Leadership by Organ and Adult Vocal Choir.
¨February 24 – “Exploring Endurance Through the Eyes of Noah.”  Musical Leadership by Acoustic Instrumentalists & Worship Team.
¨ March 3 – “Facing Courage with Joshua & Caleb.” Gospel music
celebration.
¨ March 10 – “Vision As Seen In the Eyes of King David.”  Musical
Leadership by Acoustic Instrumentalist & Worship Team.
¨ March 17 – “Learning Real Love Through the Story of Hosea.”  Musical Leadership by Organ.
¨ March 24 – “The Ultimate Character Is Provided By Jesus.”  Musical
Leadership by Youth Instrumentalist & Worship Team.
 
We will participate in the Imposition of Ashes, during our Ash Wednesday worship services.  Our schedule for Wednesdays in Lent will be as follows:  
11:00 a.m. – Morning Lenten Worship
12:00 & 6:15 p.m. – Soup & Salad
7:00 p.m. – Evening Lenten Worship w/children’s program.
 
Parents please note that a Wednesday TLC service will be provided for children age 3 - grade 3.  Children will start in worship, depart for the Sermon, and return for the celebration of Holy Communion
